Berlin’s surprise 32° September weather (90° F for those of you Stateside) has come and gone, and there was lots happening in the last few weeks of summer. Here are a few of the highlights.
Apache Flink® to the enterprise
In order to make Flink more accessible to organizations seeking enterprise support, data Artisans announced the dA Platform, a data Artisans-certified distribution of Flink bundled with 24x7x365 support. Get in touch with us if you’d like to learn more.
And we were thrilled to see that Lightbend included Flink in its Fast Data Platform. September was month of great progress in growing the Flink community and broadening the user base.
Flink Forward 2016 is a wrap
This year’s conference was a huge success, and we had a blast with the hundreds of members of the Apache Flink® community who traveled to Berlin to join in on the fun. Slides and recordings of speaker sessions are available on the Flink Forward website, and you can find bonus interviews with a few of our presenters on the Apache Flink Berlin YouTube channel.
Get your free download of ‘Introduction to Apache Flink’
data Artisans CEO Kostas Tzoumas and MapR Big Data Consultant Ellen Friedman co-authored an O’Reilly book ‘Introduction to Apache Flink’, and a free download is available on the MapR website.
The book provides an overview of key streaming concepts and explains how Flink’s features enable unprecedented performance, accuracy, and reliability in stream processing.
An action-packed week in NYC at Strata + Hadoop World
Jamie, Kostas, and Mike from the data Artisans team spent Sept 26-30 in New York, both on the floor at the Javits Center, and also at the Real-Time Streaming Analytics and Data Driven NYC meetups.
We put Apache Flink® t-shirts and hot-off-the-press hard copies of the ‘Introduction to Apache Flink’ book into the hands of Flink users both old and new.
If you missed Kostas’ talk at the conference, keep an eye on our Events page to see what’s next.
